Meeting of the Honorable Ambassador of Taiwan with Murcian companies.

The Diplomatic Representative of Taiwan in Spain, José María LIU, met this morning at the San Esteban Palace with the President of the Region of Murcia, Fernando Lopez Miras and several representatives of Murcian companies in the agri-food sector, among whom was a representative of Aromas (AromaIbérica Serrana, SL), to create commercial strategies between the two countries that allow companies to access and gain new business opportunities in the Asian country.

Taiwan is a mature, highly competitive, and highly segmented market, where the introduction of new products faces competition from companies in established countries such as France, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Chile.

Spanish products such as wine, ham, and olive oil are the main representatives of this sector on the island. Pork and cured products have experienced significant growth since the opening of the pork market in September 2014. This has led Spain to a favorable situation, as some of its competitors are not authorized to export their products to the island.
