In 1986, the Muñoz-Rojo brothers, Manuel, Bernardino and José, second generation of the Family, decided to continue with the tradition of curing hams and founded Aromaibérica Serrana, S.L., whose initials lead us to “AROMAIS”.

Aromais is experience coupled with technology that helps us make the traditional cured ham for today’s consumer. We have been manufacturing a new ham for many years, which we call “SuperHam”, where our master has perfected over time.
We start from a boneless ham, practically square, and that we cure without the bone with a new 100% own technique, giving rise to a total performance of the piece, in addition to its slices being uniform in curing, color, flavor, … presentation on plates.
But the most important thing about this product is that its salt content has been reduced by more than 25%, which is why we are recognized by the «Spanish Heart Foundation» as a «Healthy Cardio» product.
Our story
AFTER YEARS
1986
Foundation of Aromais
It was in 1986 when we opened our first space dedicated to ham crafts (at that time called Jamones Aromadul). It was a small place but full of illusions. Following the most traditional techniques, we make our first hams.
1995
We are Europe
Already in the European Union, we build our new homologated facilities according to the new requirements and preparing ourselves for the new challenge: Europe is the new domestic market.
1999
The world as a challenge
With the addition of the next generation, the company begins to grow its markets. It takes on Asia as a new challenge and is one of the first companies to have its facilities approved for third countries such as Japan.
2001 - 2009
International expantion
During these years we continue to increase the approvals for different markets (Australia, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, etc.). We want to be where a specialist ham company is valued. This entire process is accompanied by continuous expansion of its facilities.
2012
SuperHam launch
Aromais is experience coupled with technology that helps us make the traditional cured ham for today’s consumer. We start with the ham of the future.
2017
Union with Industrias Cárnicas Villar -Grupo Costa Food
Industrias Cárnicas Villar becomes a shareholder in Aromais to support him in his growth and expansion project. Without a doubt, having a good benchmark travel companion in the sector will expand and professionalize the company.
2018
Award – Expofinancial AIF
AROMAIS – is presented as a family business model, being the third generation that continues in the manufacture of hams.
2019
Award – Excellence COEC
The Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena (COEC) on its 40th anniversary presents the Business Excellence Awards 2019 – Jamones Aromais, of Food Industry Sector.
2020
Overcoming COVID-19
It is a hard year where we have to look for our most positive side and show it, fill those around us with optimism and not forget why we are here.
